Job summary

Mersen is seeking an Engineering Technician for its High Power Test Lab in the United States. You will conduct testing for external customers and support Engineering and Marketing teams.

The role requires an Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience, plus hands-on lab skills in data acquisition, control systems, and lab equipment maintenance. Overtime may be required as part of the job.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Strong PC software familiarity (Windows, Excel, Word).
  • Solid understanding of transformer theory and electromagnetics.
  • Ability to troubleshoot control systems at the component level.
  • Data acquisition systems knowledge and hands-on lab experience.
  • Clear communication with engineers and customers.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct high fault current, surge, time current and cycling testing to standards.
  • Maintain all lab power generation and test equipment.
  • Ensure lab procedures meet ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 17025 requirements.
  • Cross-train lab personnel on relevant procedures.
  • Maintain knowledge of listing services standards.
  • Evaluate test data to support design engineers’ theories.
  • Recommend upgrades for safety and data acquisition systems.
  • Assist on team projects and keep the lab clean.
  • Be willing to work overtime.
