Joby Aviation is seeking a talented power electronics engineer to design electric aircraft power electronics. This on-site role based in San Carlos, CA, involves prototyping motor-control inverters and DC/DCs from 0.5–200 kW and delivering hardware from concept to delivery.

Responsibilities include schematic/layout work, component selection, board bring-up, and collaboration with mechanical engineers. Strong HV/high-power design experience and DO-160 familiarity are desired.

Formación

• B.S. in electrical engineering or related discipline.
• 3+ years designing and developing power electronics, including 50kW–200kW inverter systems.
• Schematic capture and PCB design experience.
• Strong communication skills and ability to be onsite in San Carlos, CA.

Responsabilidades

• Create clear schematics for power electronics boards.
• Design optimized, reliable layout designs for high-power modules.
• Select components to minimize mass and maximize reliability.
• Write and execute board bring-up test plans; collect validation data.
• Collaborate with mechanical engineers to optimize placement and bus bars.
• Support manufacturing by troubleshooting production issues and designing tests.
• Participate in root-cause and failure analysis.
