Job summary

Joby Aviation seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer to own key electrical subsystems from design through prototyping to production. This hands-on role focuses on optimizing reliability, weight, and efficiency of all-electric aircraft.

You will work with cross-functional teams, create clear schematics, select components, and drive continual design improvements for performance and safety.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering or related discipline with 2+ years of industry experience.
• Strong fundamentals in power conversion, digital design, signal conditioning, and discrete semiconductors.
• Experience with schematic capture and PCB design.
• Hands-on hardware build and debugging experience.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Create clear and readable schematics for digital and mixed-signal PCBs.
• Select components for minimum mass and maximum reliability.
• Investigate and apply modern power/data transmission technologies.
• Collaborate with PCB designers for reliable, low-weight layouts.
• Write and validate design requirements.
• Support DFMEA and verification testing.
• Develop test cases and execute verification tests.
• Assist with tools creation, bring-up, and support.
