Job summary

GM Performance Power Units in Concord, NC is seeking a Gearbox Test Technician to lead hands‑on preparation, operation, and maintenance of transmission test rigs in a high‑performance Formula 1 environment. You will work with test engineers to install, instrument, and test gearbox systems to meet demanding performance targets.

Responsibilities include assembling gearboxes, installing instrumentation, recording data, maintaining rigs, and ensuring safety while delivering accurate test results

Qualifications

• Technical diploma or apprenticeship in mechanical field.
• 2+ years hands-on mechanical or test environment experience (motorsport preferred).
• Ability to read engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• High attention to detail and quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Operate gearbox and driveline test rigs per procedures.
• Monitor test parameters (torque, speed, temperature, pressure).
• Support durability, performance, and validation test programs.
• Identify and elevate abnormal test issues.
