Job summary

Elite Medical Staffing is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) for a 13‑week contract at a skilled nursing facility in Payson, AZ. The role requires PTA licensure in AZ or a compact license, with at least 1 year in SNF settings and strong mobility assessment skills.

EMR proficiency and dependable transportation are essential. The PTA will develop and modify individualized treatment plans, provide gait and balance training, educate residents and families, and ensure accurate documentation

Qualifications

• Active PTA license in AZ or Compact license
• 1 year experience as PTA in skilled nursing
• Reliable transportation to facilities
• Consistent attendance and punctuality
• Ability to push/pull and lift at least 50 pounds
• Ability to stand/walk with frequent bending and reaching
• Authorized to work in the United States
• Willing to pass background and drug screening

Responsibilities

• Record patient data in EMR and monitor vital signs
• Assess residents' function, strength and mobility
• Create and implement treatment plans to improve mobility
• Provide therapeutic exercises, gait and balance training
• Instruct on mobility aids and equipment use
• Track progress and adjust plans as needed
• Educate residents and families on exercises and fall prevention
• Document evaluations and outcomes accurately
• Follow facility policies and professional standards
• Report concerns to supervisor and agency
• Perform other duties as assigned
