Job summary

ABM Industries is seeking an airline high lift truck operator to safely load and unload cargo, baggage, and materials onto aircraft using a high lift truck. A valid driver\'s license and clean MVR are required, with weekend work and starting pay of $17.00 per hour.

Responsibilities include positioning the truck, securing the platform, ensuring SOPs and safety protocols, and coordinating with airport staff to resolve issues. Benefits are described by ABM in their Team Member Benefits program.

Qualifications

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Must have a valid driver\'s license with zero points or tickets within the last 5 years.
  • Must meet all requirements to receive required airport SIDA badge and Customs Seal (if applicable), including ten-year work history if available

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload cargo and baggage from aircraft using high lift trucks.
  • Position the truck at the aircraft, secure the work platform, and manage loading/unloading.
  • Adhere to SOPs and safety protocols during operations and vehicle positioning.
  • Communicate with customer service, flight attendants, and other airport staff to resolve issues.
  • Maintain basic logs/records of activities.
  • Perform physical tasks including pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds and standing for long periods.

Job Description

As an airline high lift truck operator or aircraft loader operator, you'll be responsible for safely and efficiently loading and unloading cargo, baggage, and other materials onto and off of aircraft using a high lift truck. Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record as we will run an MVR. Starting pay $17.00. Weekly pay. Must be able to work weekends as part of schedule.

Responsibilities
  • Loading and Unloading: They are responsible for loading and unloading cargo and baggage from aircraft using high lift trucks. This ensures that all items are safely and efficiently transported to and from the aircraft.
  • Positioning and Securing: They position the high lift truck at the aircraft, secure the work platform, and handle the loading and unloading.
  • Compliance and Safety: They comply with standard operating procedures (SOPs) regarding driving and positioning the unit at the aircraft. They also ensure safety protocols are followed during operations.
  • Communication: They interact with customer service team members, flight attendants, and other airport operations staff to identify and resolve any complication.
  • Record Keeping: They maintain basic logs and records of their activities.
  • Physical Tasks: They must be able to push and pull up to 50 pounds regularly, stand for long periods, and work in various weather conditions.
