Job summary

ABM Cabin Services/Lav Driver at Dulles International Airport is seeking motivated individuals to operate cabin service vehicles and assist with loading, unloading, and aircraft cleaning tasks. The role requires weekend and five consecutive weekday shifts, with on-the-job training provided.

Responsibilities

  • Operate cabin service vehicles, including rug trucks, cabin service trucks, and high lift trucks.
  • Track and process work orders as part of daily operations.
  • Perform pre-op vehicle checks per ES&H guidelines.
  • Follow ABM and client policies for operating service vehicles and equipment.
  • Maintain safe driving records and adhere to safety and compliance standards.
  • Assist loading/unloading of trucks at the warehouse and assist with aircraft cleaning.
  • Support security searches as needed and perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.

The drivers are responsible for operating cabin service vehicles, including but not limited to Lav trucks, and cabin service trucks and high-lift trucks. They will also support the cleaning agents as needed.

Pay: $20.63/hr. The pay listed is the hourly range or the hourly rate for this position. A specific offer will vary based on applicant’s experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data.

General Responsibilities
  • The employee is responsible for operating cabin service vehicles, including but not limited to rug trucks, cabin service trucks,s, and high lift trucks.
  • Effective operating current technology requires tracking and processing work orders.
  • Always perform equipment Pre-op check at the beginning of the shift by the ES&H manual.
  • Responsible for knowing and following all ABM’s and client policies and procedures for operating the designated service vehicles and equipment.
  • Adhere to all ADA and Air Carrier Access Act non-discrimination requirements.
  • Maintain driving record that meets company safety, and driving standards.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication and working relationships with co-workers, shift coordinators, supervisors, managers, etc.
  • Comply with all safety, security, compliance, and quality standards and procedures established by the Company, Clients, and regulatory authorities.
  • Assists in the loading and unloading of the trucks at the warehouse.
  • Will assist in the vacuuming and other duties on the aircraft.
  • May have to assist with security searches as needed.
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Physical Demands:
  • The individual may be required to stand walk, and climb stairs for the majority of the work shift.
  • Individuals may be required to lift 75 pounds or more for the majority work shift.
Work Environment:
  • The work environment has a moderate noise level.
Specific Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability:
Language Skills:
  • Ability to communicate effectively in the English language.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and procedure manuals, employee handbooks, and passenger boarding documents.
  • Ability to effectively present information, and respond to questions from passengers, managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Must also possess and utilize effective listening skills.
Math Skills:
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability:
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1 year of similar work experience
  • Previous aviation, aircraft appearance, or cleaning experience preferred.
General Company Requirements:
  • Employees must comply with the Company’s uniform and grooming standards and must wear his or her SIDA badge/Airport ID at all times.
  • Employees must comply with all guidelines and policies outlined in the ABM Aviation Employee Handb
  • Must meet all requirements to receive required airport SIDA badge, and Customs Seal, including successful completion of a background check and ten-year work history.
  • Must be willing to work on Saturday, Sunday, and three days from the weekdays. (total of 5 days). You will have two consecutive day-offs in between Monday and Friday
  • All drivers must have a valid ABM Aviation Drivers Permit in order to drive any ABM Aviation or Client Vehicle. A Driver Permit must have the specific vehicle /equipment type checked and approved on the reverse side of the Driver Permit for an employee to be qualified on that particular vehicle/equipment. Must meet all requirements to receive required airport SIDA badge, and Customs Seal (if applicable), including successful completion of a background check and ten-year work history.
