Job summary

UVA Health seeks a strategic leader to head a newly centralized High-Level Disinfection program, reprocessing endoscopic and specialty scopes across the system. You will build the team, shape workflows, and drive safety, compliance, and efficiency while partnering with clinical and operational leaders.

Ideal candidates will have HLD/sterile processing leadership experience, strong regulatory knowledge, and a track record of improving performance across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required, obtained within 2 years of hire.
• Three years of management or supervisory experience in sterile processing.
• Certification as CRCST or CSPDT (or above) through IAHCSMM/CBSPD.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a newly established High-Level Disinfection team.
• Oversee scope reprocessing, disinfection, handling, and operations across specialties.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, infection prevention standards, and accreditation expectations.
• Drive standardization, continuous improvement, and operational efficiency across centralized HLD operations.
• Collaborate with procedural, ambulatory, perioperative, and operational leaders to support safe patient care.
• Monitor productivity, quality, staffing, and performance metrics.
• Support change management as the centralized HLD model expands.
• Develop solutions to moderately complex operational challenges with accountability and safety.
• Manage frontline staff and ensure efficient resource utilization and timely objectives.
