Job description

The High Jewelry Designer plays a key role in creating and developing high jewelry collections and custom-made pieces from concept through launch. This position partners closely with the Brand Founder, Sourcing Team, and Manufacturing Workshop teams to bring creative ideas to life while maintaining the brand’s aesthetic vision and quality standards.

The ideal candidate is a highly creative jewelry designer with strong industry experience and a deep understanding of high jewelry craftsmanship, materials, gemstones, and product development gained through working with established jewelry brands or manufacturers. They possess a refined design sensibility and the ability to collaborate effectively throughout the product development process.

Key Responsibilities
Design & Collection Development
  • Contribute to the creation and development of high jewelry custom-made pieces and collections from concept through production.
  • Translate creative direction into compelling jewelry designs that align with the brand identity.
  • Develop new product concepts, design variations, and collection extensions.
  • Research trends, materials, gemstones to inspire new collections.
Product Development & Execution
  • Partner with suppliers, workshops, and manufacturing teams to bring designs from concept to finished product.
  • Interpret design direction and translate concepts into clear technical requirements for development teams and suppliers through detailed product specification packages, including dimensions, construction details, materials, gemstone information, finishing requirements, and quality standards.
  • Review prototypes and samples to ensure they meet design expectations, quality standards, and wearability requirements.
  • Maintain product records, revisions, and development documentation.
Qualifications
  • Masters's degree or equivalent experience in Jewelry Design
  • 5+ years of experience in high jewelry design
  • Software skills: Adobe Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop)
  • Familiarity with CAD and technical development processes to collaborate effectively with technical teams.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating creative design ability and successful product development experience.
  • Deep understanding of jewelry aesthetics, craftsmanship, gemstones, precious metals, and luxury product standards.
  • Experience collaborating with manufacturers, workshops, and suppliers throughout the development process.
  • Strong visual communication, presentation, and storytelling skills.
  • Excellent organizational and project management abilities.
  • Strong collaborative and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience within high jewelry brands.
  • Knowledge of gemstones and diamonds.
  • Experience working with domestic and international manufacturing partners.
  • GIA coursework or equivalent gemological education is a plus.
