Job summary

You will provide surgical management of critically injured patients in the trauma service, ICU and emergency general surgery settings, with day and night shifts. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to stabilize and treat patients and participate in quality improvement. The role emphasizes adherence to trauma program requirements, ongoing CME, and maintaining licensure and privileges

Qualifications

• MD/DO required and board certified or eligible in General Surgery
• Current license to practice in Oregon or eligible
• Current BLS, ACLS, and ATLS certifications
• Ability to obtain SCHS privileges and maintain CME requirements
• Responsibilities include ongoing professional development and annual safety training

Responsibilities

• Examines, diagnoses and treats critically injured patients and those with emergency general surgery conditions
• Orders, interprets labs, imaging, and other diagnostics to guide care
• Performs surgical procedures within state laws and guidelines
• Educates patients and families about treatment plans and preventive care
• Triages calls, communicates with team, and participates in quality improvement activities
