Job summary

The MetroHealth System in Cleveland Heights is seeking a Phlebotomist – Pathology to perform venipuncture and specimen processing in a fast-paced hospital setting. You will ensure patient comfort and safety while collecting high-quality samples in a biweekly 40-hour schedule.

Qualified candidates hold a HS Diploma or equivalent, with either PBT/ASCP certification or registry eligibility and recent phlebotomy experience. Candidates must rotate across MetroHealth locations as needed.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalence required.
• Registered PBT/ASCP or registry eligible with recent phlebotomy experience.
• Must provide official notification of passing PBT within 1 month of ASCP notice.

Responsibilities

• Obtain blood samples by venipuncture or capillary draw following departmental guidelines.
• Maintain patient safety and comfort at all times.
• Perform patient registration, visit processing, and clerical duties as needed.
• Handle specimen processing tasks including accessioning, centrifugation, bar coding, and transport packaging.
