Job summary

The City of Tukwila Parks & Recreation Department is seeking enthusiastic Youth ASAP Recreation Leaders to join our team. You will help deliver engaging afterschool activities for Kindergarten through 5th grade, Monday through Friday 1:45 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

This seasonal position involves up to 1,040 hours per year and does not include benefits. As a Recreation Leader, you will supervise youth, assist with planning activities, and maintain a welcoming, safe environment in line with Child Abuse

Qualifications

• Must be at least 17 years old.
• Currently enrolled in high school or possess a high school diploma or GED.
• Strong interest in leading enrichment, art, culture, sports, education, and recreational activities for youth.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the general supervision of afterschool youth programs.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of program participants and maintain a clean, safe working environment.
• Maintain and oversee the proper use and care of equipment and supplies.
• Enforce facility, equipment, and program rules, taking appropriate corrective action when necessary.
• Complete and maintain required forms, reports, and documentation.
• Assist with planning, scheduling, and organizing daily activities, special events, and enrichment opportunities.
• Work collaboratively as a team player and assist other staff as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned based on program needs.
