Job summary

Saint Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury, CT is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse in the Main PACU to deliver high-acuity post-operative care for patients recovering from complex surgeries.

The RN will manage Phase 1 and 2 recovery, ensure safe emergence from anesthesia, and collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and care teams to uphold perioperative standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
• Active RN license in the state of Connecticut.
• One or more years of PACU experience supporting inpatient surgical recovery.
• BLS/CPR certification (AHA or ARC).
• ACLS and TNCC certification (support available post-hire).
• Proficiency in ASPAN standards and guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-acuity care for patients recovering from trauma, cardiovascular, neurological, and other critical surgeries.
• Manage Phase 1 and 2 recovery, ensuring safe emergence from anesthesia, stabilization, and transfer readiness.
• Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and care teams to deliver advanced interventions and uphold perioperative standards.
