Job summary

HealthYes Staffing Network is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Emergency Medicine Physician for a permanent, hospital-employed position at a major regional medical center in Southeast Alabama, near the Florida Panhandle and Southwest Georgia.

This high-acuity ED handles about 60,000 visits yearly, with Level II trauma, robust support from NPs and PAs, and an academic, community-based environment.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree required and board eligibility/certification in Emergency Medicine.
• Active Alabama medical license or eligibility to obtain one.
• Completion of an accredited Emergency Medicine residency.
• Board certified or board eligible through ABEM or AOBEM.
• Visa sponsorship not available for this position.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat emergency department patients across the lifespan.
• Diagnose and manage acute illnesses, injuries, and life-threatening conditions.
• Stabilize patients experiencing cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and traumatic emergencies.
• Perform emergency procedures appropriate to training and clinical privileges.
• Coordinate admissions, transfers, consultations, and discharge planning.
• Collaborate with trauma, cardiology, neurology, surgery, hospitalist, critical care, and other specialty teams.
• Work effectively with advanced practice providers, nurses, technicians, and emergency department staff.
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic health record documentation.
• Support efficient patient flow and emergency department throughput.
• Participate in patient-safety, quality-improvement, and performance initiatives.
