Must reside in Puerto Rico or willing to relocate.

Relocation Package
  • Relocation Support: $15,000
  • Sign‑On Incentive: Up to $20,000
  • Vehicle Stipend: $250
  • Housing Support: Up to $2,000 per month
Student Loan Forgiveness

Up to $24,000 can be forgiven.

About the Role

The High‑Acuity Behavior Analyst (HA‑BCBA) is a regionally embedded Board‑Certified Behavior Analyst who supports clinicians and clinic teams in the assessment and treatment of complex behavioral presentations. The position focuses on advanced clinical consultation, mentorship, and maintaining a limited clinical caseload to preserve expertise. It does not involve organizational case‑review governance or system oversight.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Complex Case Consultation
    • Provide consultation to BCBAs handling severe behavior, psychiatric comorbidities, or other complex presentations.
    • Assist in designing and interpreting functional assessments, including functional analyses when needed.
    • Support the development of behaviorally sound treatment plans for clients with complex needs.
    • Collaborate with the Complex Care team and division leadership to identify cases that may benefit from additional clinical expertise.
  • Functional Assessment Expertise
    • Offer guidance on advanced functional assessment procedures and determine appropriate assessment rigor.
    • Help clinicians interpret assessment results and translate findings into effective treatment strategies.
  • Older Learners & Complex Profiles
    • Provide expertise with older learners, adolescents, and adults with complex behavioral histories.
    • Support clinicians addressing psychiatric comorbidities, environmental complexity, or multi‑system treatment needs.
    • Assist in adapting ABA interventions for adults when early learner strategies are insufficient.
  • Clinical Mentorship & Skill Development
    • Serve as a divisional resource for BCBAs seeking guidance on complex cases.
    • Model advanced assessment and treatment approaches when appropriate.
    • Support professional development through case discussion, consultation, and problem solving.
  • Carry Clinical Caseload
    • Maintain a small caseload of complex clients to stay actively engaged in practice and preserve expertise.
    • Implement and model best practices in assessment and treatment for complex presentations.
    • Demonstrate effective case stabilization strategies to inform consultation with other clinicians.
Requirements
  • Master’s degree in Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Special Education, or a related field.
  • Active Board‑Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) credential.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of clinical experience in applied behavior analysis, including with complex or severe behavior.
  • Proven expertise conducting and interpreting functional assessments, including functional analyses.
  • Experience working with older learners, adolescents, or adults with complex behavioral needs.
  • Experience supporting individuals with psychiatric comorbidities, complex environmental variables, or multi‑system treatment needs.
  • Strong clinical consultation skills with the ability to mentor other BCBAs.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with clinical leadership and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent clinical reasoning, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with organizational clinical documentation systems and collaboration tools.
