Job summary

National Beef of Liberal, Kansas is hiring a Hides Clerk to monitor daily hide inventory, process orders and invoices, and coordinate load scheduling in a fast-paced on-site environment. The role requires clerical experience and proficiency in Excel/Outlook, with strong communication skills and reliable, flexible hours.

The position operates 7:00am–3:30pm, with potential Saturdays based on kill schedules; safety-sensitive and on-site requirements apply.

Responsibilities

• Work with and track daily hide inventory to schedule hide loads.
• Enter new contracts, orders, and process bills for current or next day's orders.
• Keep up with hide allocation.
• Daily invoicing and daily reports.
• Schedule hide loads based on inventory; handle bookings and documentation for direct loads.
• Monitor weekly filing and hide freight.
• Receive and prepare claims from customers for sales/plant management.
• Maintain communication with customers and agents; respond to questions.
• Cross-train within the accounting department as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

Hides Clerk responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Work with and track daily hide inventory to be able to schedule hide loads
• Enter new contracts, orders, process bill for current day or next day's orders
• Keep up with hide allocation
• Daily invoicing and daily reports
• Schedule hide loads based upon inventory, handle bookings, and direct loads, as well as documentation for direct loads
• Keep track of hide freight and weekly filing
• Receive and prepare claims from customers to present to salespeople and plant management
• Keep good communication with customers and customers agents. Responding to any questions
• Monitor wire references and bookkeeping customer’s shipments
• Cross-train as needed within the accounting department
• Other duties as assigned.

Hours:7:00am-3:30pm Schedule to work all Kill days Monday-Friday and Saturdays depending on kill schedule

This is a safety sensitive position. This is an on-site position.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates for the Hides Clerk position should possess the following:

• Motivated and dependable individual willing to learn and grow with the position and the company
• Clerical experience needed
• Billing and scheduling experience is preferred
• Must be proficient in Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft programs
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Able to work flexible hours, if needed
• Bilingual is preferred but not required
• Willingness to cross train in other accounting areas
• Must be able to do weekly filing
• Active and willing to work in a fast peace environment
• Strategic planning and scheduling skills
• Time-management skills

Qualified candidates for this position will be required to successfully complete the background check.
