Job summary

Combined Metals is seeking a production operator to join our HI-LO and slitter operations on site in Ann Arbor, MI. You will check work orders, select processed material, verify weight, alloy, size, and quality, and prepare coils for processing.

The role emphasizes safety, accurate documentation, and neat work areas, with hands-on use of hand tools and machines and opportunities for advancement into production.

Responsibilities

• Operate HI‑LO Operation & Slitter Operations.
• Promote safety culture and adhere to all plant safety policies and procedures.
• Check work orders, select processed material, verify weight, alloy, size, and quality.
• Operate forklift to bring material to production floor or shipping department.
• Follow packaging instructions.
• Operate hand tools and machines (automatic bander, core cutting machine, shrink wrapper, nail gun, circular saw).
• Identify all slit material, complete documentation, and group completed coils by work order in designated area.
• Maintain work area clean and neat.
• Opportunity for advancement into production.
• Prepare metal coils by trimming to fit widths specified by customers and conduct final checks of coil specifications.
• Identify all edged material by alloy, size, melt, weight, edge, and complete documentation.
