Job summary

Higginsville Habilitation Center in Higginsville, MO is seeking a Registered Nurse to join a dedicated state-operated program.

Job description

Higginsville Habilitation Center is recruiting for Registered Nurses, to be a part of a highly effective team, that makes a difference in the lives of adults with developmental disabilities.HHC is a state operated program within the Department of Mental Health and supports individuals receiving 24/7 services.

Must have knowledge of current professional nursing theory, practices and standards. Ability to administer detailed therapeutic prescriptions under general professional supervision. Ability to supervise, evaluate and instruct professional nursing staff.

Responsibilities:

• Will provide oversight and direct medical support to the Individuals with developmental disabilities who live at HHC.
• Responsible for overseeing the medical needs of Individuals in collaboration with the PCP and the Individuals support team.
• Clinical Assessments: Perform initial, comprehensive, and admission health assessments. Conduct mandatory post-hospitalization skin and systems reviews within 7 days.
• Care Planning: Develop, Implement specialized nursing care plans.
• Nursing Delegation: Evaluate and delegate medical tasks to non-licensed Direct Support Professionals (DSPs).
• Oversight and Collaboration: Direct and evaluate care delivered by LPN's and assistive staff, coordinate clinical treatment alterations with psychiatrists.
• Will communicate with internal and external team members and participate in the Individual's planning process.
• Will supervise LPN's.

Qualifications:

Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Missouri.

Lack of post-secondary education will not be used as the sole basis denying consideration to any applicant.

Schedule:

Scheduled to work 8:00 am – 4:30 pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Days off are Saturday and Sunday.
