Job summary

Assisting Hands Home Care in Boston, MA is seeking compassionate home caregivers to support clients in their daily routines. You will assist with bathing, dressing, meals, and mobility, while providing companionship and light caregiving in clients' homes across Norfolk and Suffolk Counties.

Training and supervision are provided to ensure quality care. We value reliability, empathy, and a patient-centered approach, with opportunities for advancement and a supportive RN supervisor in the field.

Qualifications

• Must have CNA or HHA certification or caregiving experience
• Proficiency in English
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
• Ability to pass background checks

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming to maintain dignity and comfort
• Assist with mobility transfers and light exercise as appropriate
• Prepare and serve meals for clients
• Provide medication reminders and coordinate with supervisors
• Offer companionship and engage clients in activities to brighten each day
• Demonstrate empathy, reliability, and a willingness to learn and grow
• Maintain a clean and safe home environment for clients
• Occasionally transport clients to appointments or errands and track miles

Key Responsibilities

• Assist clients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming; your support helps our clients maintain dignity and comfort
• Assist with Mobility, Transfers, Light Exercise or Walking
• Prepare and serve meals so clients have tasty and healthy food
• Medication reminders are crucial to our client’s health – we will train you
• Provide companionship, engage in fun activities and be the friendly face and joyful presence that makes every day a little brighter
• Show enthusiasm for helping others, eagerness to learn, and motivation to provide excellent care
• Maintain a clean and safe environment in clients' homes
• Occasional Transportation of your client – appointments or errands, we reimburse your miles
• Demonstrate dedication to our clients and respect for our agency’s close-knit team

Requirements

• Proficiency in English
• Current CNA or HHA certification or caregiving experience
• Nursing students seeking patient care experience
• Previous experience in home care or a similar setting is a plus but not necessary; what matters most is your kindness and eagerness to make a difference
• Strong communication skills and a caring nature - because a warm, empathetic approach is at the heart of what we do
• Ability to follow a care plan and provide compassionate, patient-centered care
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
