Job summary

Assisting Hands Home Care in New York seeks compassionate caregivers to support clients at home, provide daily living assistance, and help maintain dignity and comfort.

You will work with an RN Supervisor, receive ongoing training, and have opportunities for advancement within scheduling or recruiting. English proficiency, valid CNA/HHA certification or experience preferred, reliable transportation, and a clean background required.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in English required.
• Current CNA or HHA certification or caregiving experience required.
• Nursing students seeking patient care experience welcome.
• Experience in home care is a plus but not required; kindness matters most.
• Strong communication and a caring, empathetic approach.
• Ability to follow care plans and provide compassionate care.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
• Willingness to pass background checks.

Responsibilities

• Help clients with daily activities (bathing, dressing, grooming) to maintain dignity and comfort.
• Assist with mobility, transfers, light exercise, or walking.
• Prepare and serve meals to promote healthy eating.
• Provide medication reminders and coordinate with supervisors as needed.
• Offer companionship and engage clients in activities to brighten their day.
• Demonstrate enthusiasm, eagerness to learn, and commitment to quality care.
• Maintain a clean and safe home environment for clients.
• Occasionally transport clients to appointments or errands; mileage is reimbursed.
• Show dedication to clients and respect for the agency’s team.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements
