RH Recruiting Limited in Livingston is recruiting an experienced HGV Technician to maintain, inspect, service and repair a fleet of commercial vehicles, with a focus on trailer maintenance. You will work on day or night shifts with a 4 on 4 off pattern.

Pay is £24.00 per hour for day shifts and £26.00 per hour for nights, with overtime paid at 1.5x. We offer training, career development and a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Experience as HGV/LGV/Trailer Technician or Heavy Vehicle Technician.
• Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out routine servicing, maintenance and repairs on trailers.
• Inspecting trailers and identifying mechanical faults.
• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical issues.
• Carrying out preventative maintenance and safety inspections.
• Working on braking systems, suspension, lighting and other trailer components.
• Maintaining accurate service and repair records.
• Ensuring vehicles and trailers are safe, roadworthy and compliant.
• Working effectively as part of a professional workshop team.
• Potential opportunity to participate in an on-call rota.

The Role

As an HGV Technician, you will be responsible for the maintenance, inspection, servicing and repair of a fleet of commercial vehicles, with the role mainly involving trailer maintenance and repairs.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out routine servicing, maintenance and repairs on trailers
• Inspecting trailers and identifying mechanical faults
• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical issues
• Carrying out preventative maintenance and safety inspections
• Working on braking systems, suspension, lighting and other trailer components
• Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard
• Maintaining accurate service and repair records
• Ensuring vehicles and trailers are safe, roadworthy and compliant

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience as an HGV Technician, LGV Technician, Trailer Technician or Heavy Vehicle Technician
• Experience working on trailers would be highly desirable
• Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills
