Job summary

Responsibilities

Job description

We’re looking for a reliable HGV Class 2 Driver to join our Transport Team, based at our Colchester Site. This role includes regular delivery routes into London, so you’ll need to be confident driving in busy urban areas and navigating customer sites with limited access.

You’ll represent Pilgrim Foodservice on the road and at customer premises, providing a professional and friendly service while delivering orders safely and on time.

What you’ll be doing

• Driving an HGV Class 2 vehicle on delivery routes from Colchester, including into London
• Delivering food and other products to customers
• Loading and unloading the vehicle, handling items weighing up to 25kg
• Completing daily vehicle checks and reporting defects promptly
• Following driving, road safety, Working Time Directive and food safety requirements
• Keeping your vehicle clean and in good condition
• Providing helpful, courteous service to customers and reporting any issues

What we’re looking for

• A valid HGV Class 2 licence, Driver CPC and digital tachograph card
• Confidence driving in London and other busy urban areas
• A safe, responsible approach to driving and vehicle care
• Good communication and customer service skills
• The ability to carry out regular manual handling, including lifting up to 25kg
• Reliability, flexibility and a positive approach to working as part of a team

The role is based at our Colchester Site, with deliveries taking you into London as part of the regular work.
