Panda is hiring an HGV Class 2 Driver to join our Sheffield team. You will operate skip and RoRo vehicles across local sites with a 6:00am start, no nights out, and overtime options. We provide comprehensive onboarding, PPE, and training to support newly qualified drivers.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate HGV Class 2 skip and RoRo vehicles.
• Deliver, exchange, and collect containers at local sites.
• Complete daily vehicle checks and report defects (DVSA compliant).
• Use digital tablet systems for records and waste transfer notes.
• Provide friendly on-site customer service and support the depot team.

About The Role

Position: Permanent, Full-Time (Guaranteed Hours)

Earnings: £16.50/hr basic | Overtime paid at x1.5 after 45 hours

Hours: 6:00am start times, including occasional Saturday work

What You’ll Be Doing

• Vehicle Operation: Safely and efficiently operate HGV Class 2 skip and RoRo vehicles.
• Site Deliveries: Deliver, exchange, and collect containers across various local commercial and industrial sites.
• Compliance & Tech: Complete daily vehicle checks, report defects promptly (DVSA compliance), and use digital tablet-based systems for job records and waste transfer notes.
• Safety First: Work safely at all times, strictly following site, transport, and road regulations.
• Customer Service: Act as the face of the company, providing a professional, helpful, and friendly service on-site.
• Teamwork: Support the wider transport and depot team at our Sheffield site to keep operations running smoothly.

What We’re Looking For

Essential Requirement: A valid UK HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence, up-to-date Driver CPC, and a Digital Tachograph card.

• New Pass Drivers Welcome: We actively welcome applications from newly qualified drivers. If you have recently gained your licence, we provide the necessary support and industry-specific training to help you kickstart your career.
• While previous experience in skip, RoRo, or hookloader operations is an advantage, it is not essential as full training is provided.
• A solid understanding of driver compliance, safety standards, and daily defect checks.
• A reliable, professional approach with uncompromising safety standards.
• Good communication skills and a practical, customer-focused attitude.
• Flexibility to support operational needs, including a 6am start time and occasional Saturday shifts.
