Job summary

The City of Nacogdoches, Texas is seeking a dynamic Historic Sites Manager to direct and grow our museum collections, exhibits and public educational programs. You will lead daily operations across historic sites and mentor a team to deliver engaging experiences for residents and visitors.

Responsibilities include budgeting, pursuing grants, community outreach, guided tours and educational workshops, with emphasis on preservation, research and public engagement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in museum studies, public history, public administration or related field (Master's preferred).
• 3+ years of experience assisting in historic site or museum operations.
• Knowledge of collections management, museum ethics and cataloguing software.
• Strong leadership, communication and public relations skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations and team members across historic sites.
• Curate museum collections, organize research and design engaging temporary exhibits.
• Develop department budgets, pursue grants and manage financial resources.
