Job summary

The University of Kentucky is seeking a Computer Vision Engineer to join the EduceLab research team within the Department of Computer Science in Lexington, KY. The role focuses on advancing imaging, AI, and computer vision work aimed at cultural heritage preservation and scientific understanding.

The successful candidate will develop imaging workflows, design software solutions, and support research infrastructure, contributing to heritage science AI initiatives and interdisciplinary projects in

Qualifications

Master's degree is required.
At least 2 years of related experience.
Experience with computer vision and imaging systems.
Strong Python programming skills and software development experience.
Knowledge of AI, machine learning, and data analysis techniques.

Responsibilities

Develop software and AI-driven tools for image capture, volumetric data processing, and visualization.
Design and implement applications for photogrammetry, multi-camera systems, and automated imaging workflows.
Build Python-based pipelines for image processing, micro-CT reconstruction, metadata management, and data analysis.
Develop and optimize algorithms for segmentation, mesh generation, texture mapping, and CV applications.
Manage and support advanced imaging hardware including cameras, lighting, and CT equipment.
