Job summary

Holden Farms, Inc. is seeking a full-time Sow Farm Associate in Saint Charles, MN. You will provide daily care for pigs, assist with feeding, health checks, and breeding activities, and help maintain facilities. Strong work ethic and willingness to learn are essential.

No prior experience with pigs is required; on-the-job training and a comprehensive benefits package are provided. Expect a weekday schedule with rotating weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Daily pig care and health checks for designated pigs.
• Sorting, feeding, watering, and heat detection.
• Maintenance tasks such as cleaning, vent cleaning, and minor repairs.
• Record keeping and adherence to biosecurity program.
• Breed sows through artificial insemination as trained.
• Perform occasional power washing and general site maintenance.

Description

Reports to the Sow Farm Manager and is responsible for daily care, health and maintenance for all pigs at designated work site.

Hours

Generally - Monday-Friday 6:30am-4:00pm; times may vary based on business needs

Rotating Weekend and Holiday Schedule Required.

Compensation

Hourly, competitive based on experience, quarterly bonuses, plus we offer an excellent benefits package

Essential Job Functions

• Daily pig care
• Sorting
• Monthly maintenance, such as cleaning dryer vents, greasing anchor bearings, and bait.
• Ordering feed
• Understand and follow for Holden Farms Biosecurity Program
• Power Washing farrow rooms and hallways.
• Castration
• Feeding and checking waters
• Perform heat detection on sows.
• Breed sows through artificial insemination.
• Monitor and treat sows as needed by administering vaccines and medicines.
• Cleaning facilities and minor maintenance
• Keeping detailed and accurate records
• Other site maintenance as needed.
