Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ seeks a Section Chief of Hematopathology to provide clinical, research, and academic leadership for the RWJ - Pathology division. You will oversee hematopathology services at RWJ University Hospital and support the Jack and Sheryl Morris Cancer Center, Bristol-Myers Squibb Children's Hospital, and related teaching activities.

The role requires MD/DO/MBBS with board certification in Hematopathology and NJ licensure eligibility, plus senior leadership

Qualifications

• MD, DO, or MBBS degree required.
• Licensed or eligible for licensure to practice medicine in New Jersey.
• Board certified by ABPath in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology OR Clinical Pathology.
• Board certified by ABPath in Hematopathology.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative oversight of the laboratory subspecialty areas, including hematology, flow cytometry, cytogenetics, and molecular pathology.
• Collaborate with division leadership to oversee quality assurance and specimen processing.
• Lead staff toward teaching, research, patient care, and administrative excellence.
• Communicate the Department's vision and mission and motivate staff to act.
• Establish quality metrics and annual goals; evaluate physician performance and remediation plans.
• Support lab growth, recruitment, and resource planning with divisional leadership.
• Engage in educational programs, teaching medical students, residents, and fellows, and participate in tumor boards.
• Develop and oversee research initiatives within the division.
