Job summary

Jobot in Fort Myers, FL is seeking a Hematopathologist to provide integrated hematopathology services, incorporating morphology with flow cytometry, cytogenetics, FISH and molecular genetics.

The ideal candidate will have 5 years post-fellowship experience in hematopathology, be board-certified, and hold Florida licensure or eligibility, with a strong track record in multidisciplinary collaboration and delivering timely, high-quality results.

Qualifications

• MD/DO degree with board certification in Hematopathology is required
• Minimum 5 years of attending-level experience in hematopathology preferred
• Active Florida medical license or eligibility is required; CA/NY/TX eligibility a plus

Responsibilities

• Interpret biopsy/cytology with morphology, flow, and molecular data
• Read and interpret laboratory data for diagnostic interpretation
• Perform quality control and participate in QA activities
• Collaborate with clinicians and sign out cases with client interaction
• Provide guidance to technologists to resolve case issues
• Serve as Delegated Clinical Consultant when assigned
• Maintain high standards of turnaround time, quality, and customer service

Job Details

As a Hematopathologist you will be responsible for providing contemporary hematopathology services that integrate morphological examination with flow cytometry, cytogenetics, FISH and molecular genetics.

The ideal candidate will have 5 years post-fellowship experience in Hematopathology.

Core Responsibilities:

• Performs diagnostic interpretation of biopsy and/or cytology material to include gross and microscopic evaluation, dictation and electronic release of reviewed cases.
• Reads and interprets laboratory data.
• Performs quality control and assurance procedures and participates in departmental professional quality control and quality assurance activities.
• Participates in several functions involved in day-to-day operations, including case consultation sign out responsibilities with full time availability to interact with our clients for Pre-Analytical, Analytical, and Post-Analytical questions.
• Provides expertise and assistance to technologists and technicians to resolve case issues.
• Serves as Delegated Clinical Consultant when assigned by site Medical Director.
• Works closely with clinical and administrative staff to insure the highest standards of TAT, quality, and customer service are maintained
• Builds effective relationships with referring physicians and ensures excellent client follow-up.

Qualifications:

• M.D. or D.O. degree and board certification/eligibility in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology preferred, board certification in Hematopathology is required
• At least 5 years of attending level experience in hematopathology is strongly encouraged
• Active or eligibility for an unrestricted Medical License in the state of FL required. Eligibility for CA, NY and TX a plus.
• Proven track record as a productive member of a multi-disciplinary team, including a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with peers in senior management
• A proven record of obtaining required information related to identifying needs and potential solutions, analyzing or improvising the most appropriate solution, and determining and documenting the most appropriate course of action.
• Proven experience using an automated laboratory information system (LIS) which features on-line transcription and reporting, and electronic signature.
