Job summary

NeoGenomics seeks a Hematopathologist for per diem coverage, with possible Saturdays, Sundays, and/or Mondays. Some on-site work in Aliso Viejo, CA may be required depending on case volume. The role combines morphological review with Flow Cytometry, Cytogenetics, FISH and Molecular genetics to provide comprehensive diagnostic services.

An M.D./D.O. credential with AP/CP board eligibility is required, CA licensure is mandatory, and a minimum of 3 years of attending-level hematopathology

Qualifications

• MD/DO degree with board eligibility or certification in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology.
• Hematopathology fellowship or board certification preferred.
• Active and unrestricted California medical license required; other state licenses optional.
• Proven track record in a multi-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Provide diagnostic interpretation of hematopathology cases, including morphologic assessment.
• Integrate Flow Cytometry, Cytogenetics, FISH, and Molecular data into reports.
• Perform quality control and participate in QA activities.
• Collaborate with staff for case discussions and client communications.
• Serve as Delegated Clinical Consultant when assigned by site Medical Director.
• Maintain high standards of turnaround time, accuracy, and client service.
• Build relationships with referring physicians and ensure follow-up.

NeoGenomics is looking for someone to join the team a Per Diem, Hematopathologist. The ideal individual in this position will need to contribute hours on Saturdays, Sundays and/or Mondays. This position may require some onsite work in Aliso Viejo, CA depending on case volume and type.

Position Summary:

The Hematopathologist will be responsible for providing contemporary Hematopathology services that integrate morphological examination with Flow Cytometry, Cytogenetics, FISH and Molecular genetics.

Core Responsibilities:

• Performs diagnostic interpretation of biopsy and/or cytology material to include gross and microscopic evaluation, dictation and electronic release of reviewed cases.
• Reads and interprets laboratory data.
• Performs quality control and assurance procedures and participates in departmental professional quality control and quality assurance activities.
• Participates in several functions involved in day-to-day operations, including case consultation sign out responsibilities with full time availability to interact with our clients for Pre-Analytical, Analytical, and Post-Analytical questions.
• Provides expertise and assistance to technologists and technicians to resolve case issues.
• Serves as Delegated Clinical Consultant when assigned by site Medical Director.
• Works closely with clinical and administrative staff to insure the highest standards of TAT, quality, and customer service are maintained
• Builds effective relationships with referring physicians and ensures excellent client follow-up.

Experience & Required Qualifications:

• M.D. or D.O. degree and board certification/eligibility in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology board certification/eligibility in Hematopathology preferred
• At least three (3) years of attending level experience in hematopathology is strongly encouraged
• Active and unrestricted Medical License in the state of California required along with FL, TX and/or NY licenses preferred but not required.
• Proven track record as a productive member of a multi-disciplinary team, including a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with peers in senior management
• A proven record of obtaining required information related to identifying needs and potential solutions, analyzing or improvising the most appropriate solution, and determining and documenting the most appropriate course of action.
• Proven experience using an automated laboratory information system (LIS) which features on-line transcription and reporting, and electronic signature.
