Labcorp in Phoenix, AZ seeks a Technologist to perform routine and advanced laboratory testing. You will verify specimen eligibility, operate and troubleshoot instruments, and maintain quality control to ensure accurate patient results.

The role requires a B.S. in a chemical/biological science or medical technology and at least 1 year of lab testing experience, with flexibility for overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Must have a bachelor’s degree in a chemical/biological science or medical technology.
• At least 1 year of clinical laboratory testing experience.
• Ability to pass a color blindness test and work in a regulated lab.

Responsabilités

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing per criteria.
• Perform routine and complex procedures per SOPs.
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation.
• Make technical testing decisions and problem solve.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate test results to support patient care.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and quality control.
• Replenish testing bench supplies as needed.
• Assist with processing specimens as required.

Labcorp is seeking a Technologist to join our team in Phoenix, AZ. Work Schedule: Hours will be "as needed", start and end times can vary

Job Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality
• Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls
• Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care
• Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology
• 1 year or more of clinical laboratory testing experience

Preferred Qualification

• Current or prior Labcorp experience ASCP or AMT certification

• Proficient with computers
• Familiarity with laboratory information systems
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
• High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
