Job summary

The University of Washington Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology and Oncology seeks two full-time ARNPs or PAs at the Teaching Associate level to provide hematology/oncology care. Positions involve inpatient rounds at UWMC and FHCC with cross-coverage at UWMC-Montlake.

At least two years of ARNP/PA-C experience preferred. ACLS within three months, Washington license, and EMR proficiency are required; the role carries a 12-month service period with paid time off.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program
• Washington state licensure required at credentialing
• ACLS within three months of hire date
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Electronic Medical Record experience

Responsibilities

• Rounds on inpatient Northwest Hospital inpatients.
• Reports off to consulting physician before and during rounds.
• Performs complex and problem-focused H&P’s.
• Evaluates and manages treatment toxicities and side effects.
• Performs procedures according to licensure and privileges.
• Collaborates with other disciplines to ensure safe, timely treatment.
• Participates in cancer clinical research and education for patients and caregivers
• Communicates effectively with inpatient and outpatient teams.
• Participates in rounds, conferences and committees.
• Cross-coverage for Heme/Onc as needed at UWMC-Montlake.
