Job description

I have a client in Baltimore, MD seeking an experienced Hematology/Oncology Physician for locum coverage starting ASAP. Here are some details:
Contract Length: ongoing, would love a 10-12 month contract, will not look at candidates under 6 months.

Shift Details: Clinic is open 8a-5pm, Mon-Fri, Infusion Center is 8a-5p or 5:30p. Must attend a Tumor Board on Tuesday 8a-9am every week (virtual meeting, some docs are on this while driving or at home) to discuss patients and treatment recommendations for all the docs (no patients are scheduled during this time)

Schedule: Rotation of clinic/hospital (2-5 consults on avg per day while on call) Call Schedule: Call is 1:4 or 1:5. rotation. While on call they have clinic 8a-12p attend to consults, then consults (while on call, the locums would consult on cases. The call will be on phone consult or give instructions. Avg week called in: already there in the first half of day, rarely called in on the weekend, if ever. Very rare that there s an emergency consult that calls for them to come in.

Work Details: Support staff: 5 Med Oncs (1 is retiring on June 30), Call will be 1:4 or 1:5 weeks. 3 experienced NPs in the clinic, also nurse navigators and Medical Assistant. Patients per day: Avg volume is 15 patients per day in outpatient clinic Low is 8, some docs see 22. 2-5 consults on avg per day while on call. They get complicated patients. Patient population/age: all adults 18+ (there is a separate peds program) EMR: Cerner

Outpatient Clinic details: multi-disciplinary area and exam rooms, 28 chair infusion center is across the hallway and Rad Onc is downstairs

Practice Setting: Community Hospital, mostly outpatient clinic but will check in on their patients that are admitted at the hospital.

Requirements: Board Certification: BC in Hem/Onc State license required: Required, will not license Minimum experience required: 10 years practicing experience (not research experience) , but would consider 8 9 years if strong provider.

Credentialing Timeframe: up to 90 days
