Job summary

The University of Florida’s UFHealth Physician role seeks a dedicated hematology/oncology physician to provide comprehensive patient care in the outpatient clinic and infusion suite. You will evaluate, diagnose, and manage hematologic and oncologic conditions within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities include coordinating care, reviewing labs and imaging, and delivering systemic therapies while following institutional pathways.

Qualifications

• Ambulatory clinical experience in adult hematology/oncology preferred.
• Experience managing chemotherapy, immunotherapy, transfusions, and systemic therapies.
• Experience participating in or leading a multidisciplinary oncology care team.

Responsibilities

• Provides comprehensive hematology and oncology patient care in outpatient and infusion settings.
• Oversees clinical care of patients in infusion suite and clinic, manages treatment readiness and labs.
• Collaborates with nursing, pharmacy, and support staff to ensure safe chemotherapy delivery.
• Orders, reviews, and interprets diagnostic tests and follows up promptly.
• Prescribes chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapies, blood products, and supportive care.
• Develops individualized treatment plans and refers patients to specialists and services as needed.
• Leads and coordinates nursing, infusion, and support staff activities.
• Adheres to departmental policies, quality improvement, patient safety, and accreditation standards.
• Participates in tumor boards, conferences, peer review, and provider meetings.
• Assists in development and updating of clinical protocols and treatment pathways.
• Identifies and enrolls patients in clinical trials when appropriate.
• Engages in lifelong learning and strives for high-quality care and decision making.
