The Hematology/Oncology Physician is responsible for providing specialized care to patients with blood disorders and cancers. The role involves diagnosing, treating, and managing a variety of hematologic and oncologic conditions, including but not limited to leukemia, lymphoma, solid tumors, and anemia.
The patient mix is evenly split between Hematology and Oncology cases, with common diagnoses including breast, colon, lung, and prostate cancers.
The practice operates on a care team model, with one dedicated RN and one Medical Assistant per physician, along with two Nurse Practitioners.
Certified RNs in chemotherapy administer inpatient chemotherapy treatments.
The facility boasts a robust general surgery program and specialty services such as ENT, Urology, Gynecology, Pulmonology, and Gastroenterology.
Physicians have autonomy and input regarding schedule, patient volumes, and practice operations.
