Job summary
The Hematology and Oncology Nurse Practitioner at Anna Jacques Hospital, part of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and the Longwood Specialty Physicians network, provides consultation, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care for oncology and hematology patients under the supervision of a board-certified oncologist/hematologist.
The role requires an active MA NP or PA license, BLS/ACLS, prescriptive authority from MA DPH-DCP and Federal DEA, and an ONS Chemotherapy card; oncology/hematology
Qualifications
- Must have an active MA NP or PA license
- BLS/ACLS
- MA board authorization to practice as an APRN NRSG or PA
- A valid prescriptive authority from MA DPH-DCP and Federal DEA
- For APRN, a current ONS Chemotherapy card
- OCN within one year of employment
- Oncology/hematology experience strongly preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide consultation, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care relative to oncology and hematology patients under supervision of a board-certified oncologist/hematologist
- Educate, counsel and provide support for oncology patients throughout treatment and survivorship
- Coordinate plan of care with faculty and nursing staff to meet patient and family needs
