Job summary

Duke Health's Duke Women's Cancer Care of Raleigh Hematology Oncology/Infusion Clinic seeks a Certified Medical Assistant to support infusion services at the Raleigh location. You will greet patients, help manage infusion bays, and assist clinicians during procedures.

The position emphasizes patient care, administrative duties, and collaboration within the Duke Cancer Institute team, with on-site responsibilities in Raleigh. A Level I–IV MA education path and BLS are preferred.

Qualifications

• Good customer service skills and ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• High school diploma or GED; completion of Medical Assistant program preferred.
• Knowledge of infection control procedures and patient safety basics.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and maintain flow of infusion bays; record histories and vital signs.
• Assist medical/nursing staff during examinations and procedures; prepare patients for infusion.
• Place peripheral IVs for non-chemotherapy agents and administer medications as directed.
• Perform administrative duties and liaise for clinic activities (Joint Commission, falls).
• Document in patient records and support education of patients and families.
