Job summary

Duke University seeks an Advanced Practice Provider for the Hematology Hospital‑Based Clinic and Inpatient Service in Raleigh, NC. You will collaborate with attending physicians, collect data, perform procedures, and coordinate a new inpatient Telehealth service for hematology consultation.

The role supports day-shift work Monday through Friday in a Division focused on diagnosis and treatment of blood disorders, primarily non‑malignant. Telehealth and in‑person collaboration are central to care.

Qualifications

• Nurse Practitioners: completion of an accredited NP program with a Master’s degree in Nursing.
• Physician Assistants: completion of an accredited PA program; Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Triage and clinical assessment with attending physicians; perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures; order and schedule laboratory studies and consultations; provide direct patient care.
• Analyze clinical practice patterns to improve care effectiveness.
• Communicate patient information to supervising physicians, nurses, and other providers.
• Document data and patient status in the electronic medical record.

Education

Master’s degree in Nursing (Nurse Practitioner)

Bachelor’s degree (Physician Assistant)

National certification as a NP or PA
