Job summary

The Brigham and Women's Hospital, Inc., part of Mass General Brigham, in Boston seeks a Technical Specialist for the Clinical Laboratory. The role requires performing waived and non-waived testing and supervising trainees as needed, following SOPs and maintaining accurate records.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology or Laboratory Sciences and ASCP certification, with 3–5 years in a Specialty Lab.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or Laboratory Sciences required.
• ASCP (BOC) certification required for Medical Technologist.
• 3–5 years experience in a Specialty Laboratory preferred.

Responsibilities

• The testing personnel are responsible for specimen processing, test performance and reporting test results.
• After orientation, training and competency assessment on all instruments/methods, follow procedures for specimen handling, testing, reporting, and records.
• Maintain records showing proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient samples.
• Adhere to quality control policies and document calibrations and maintenance.
• Develop training procedures and oversee competency assessments for staff in the Specialty Labs.
