Job summary

Emerson Health is seeking a Medical Technologist in Hematology for a Per Diem role. You will perform routine and specialized diagnostic testing, analyze samples, and report results to clinical staff in a timely manner.

Required is a Bachelor’s degree in a Medical Laboratory Science-related field, with ASCP certification preferred or eligible. Minimum one year of hematology experience is expected; strong attention to quality control and safety is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Biological, Chemical, Clinical, or Medical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology required
• ASCP certification accepted in lieu of education
• One year of laboratory experience, including hematology, preferred or new grads acceptable

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and specialized diagnostic testing in hematology and related areas
• Analyze blood, body fluids, and specimens with precision
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot lab instrumentation
• Process specimens with proper handling, labeling, and documentation
• Report test results to clinical staff promptly
• Follow quality control, safety, and regulatory requirements
• Assist with venipuncture and specimen collection as needed
• Collaborate with physicians and lab staff
• Maintain confidentiality and data integrity
