Quest Diagnostics Incorporated in Houston, TX is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist - Hematology for the night shift. The role includes performing complex tests, ensuring quality control, and supporting instrument troubleshooting in a busy hematology laboratory.

You will adhere to SOPs, manage specimen handling, and maintain timely reporting of results while upholding CLIA, HIPAA and OSHA requirements. A BS/BA in Medical Technology or related field is preferred.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Medical Technology, Biology or Chemistry or Associate degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Technology.
• ASCP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Must demonstrate proficiency in all areas of testing and be proficient troubleshooting all applicable instruments/procedures in the department.
• Provides support to the department in quality control, troubleshooting complex problems, customer support, instrument and equipment maintenance, staff training, process improvement and special projects.
• Perform and report on assigned analytical tests in accordance with SOPs, ensuring quality control requirements are met.
• Adhere to laboratory policies for specimen handling and processing, test analysis, reporting and maintaining records of patient test results.
• Maintain turnaround time of results including STATS or critical results to clients.
• Enter test results into the Laboratory Information System for standardized report to be generated for physician review and interpretation.
