Job summary

Allina Health in Minneapolis is seeking a Medical Assistant to support providers and nursing staff in delivering timely patient care. Responsibilities include rooming patients, managing flow, administering injections, and coordinating with the RN and provider.

This role features a $2,000 starting bonus for eligible external talent, 8-hour day shifts, 40 hours per week, and no weekend work within a not-for-profit health system offering comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age with education and/or experience as listed on the job description.
• Completed a Medical Assistant program or comparable healthcare education program with similar clinical training.
• Fewer than six months MA experience? must have completed at least 160 hours of clinical externship or equivalent practicum.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, manage patient flow and obtain medical information/data.
• Collects and confirms patient information via interview and vital signs and documents in EMR.
• Assists with patient prep for physician exams and provides psycho-emotional support.
• Assists with collection, labeling, and processing of specimens.
• Facilitates lab/imaging result communication and coordinates with providers.
• May cover front desk and support patient registration/scheduling.
• Performs injections and assists with procedures.
• Reinforces patient information regarding tests, labs, or treatment plans.
• Maintains safety and cleans, stocks, and inventories exam/medication areas.
