Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a physical science or medical technology preferred.
• New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist license or limited permit required.
• Experience with laboratory information systems and automated equipment required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and emergency tests on blood, serum, spinal fluid and other body fluids.
• Review data prior to release.
• Report all panic, abnormal values.
• Maintain quality control data and resolve QC failures.
• Prepare reagents and maintain inventory.
• Maintain all records and maintenance logs.
• Assist with telephone calls and LIS data entry as needed.
• May lead a laboratory unit and supervise technicians.
• Assist with training of new employees.
• Maintain clean work area per Infection Control guidelines.
• Perform other laboratory tasks under supervision.
