Job summary

Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange, GA is seeking a Laboratory Technical Supervisor to oversee a defined section, ensure assay performance, and lead the staff of technologists, technicians, and assistants.

This role requires a minimum of 5 years in laboratory medicine, supervisory experience preferred, and completion of required certifications. The supervisor will manage staffing, payroll, and performance evaluations while maintaining accreditation readiness and quality control.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Medical Technology or related field is required.
• Minimum 5 years of pertinent experience in laboratory medicine is required.
• All certifications are required upon hire unless stated otherwise.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the designated laboratory section and analyzer operation.
• Supervise Technologists, Technicians, and Support staff on shift.
• Maintain accreditation readiness and compliance with regulatory agencies.
• Manage scheduling, payroll, and performance evaluations.
• Conduct staff training, coaching, and competency assessments.
• Assist in procedure selection and implement new methods as needed.
