Job summary

Baylor College of Medicine in Houston seeks a full-time Hematology faculty member at the Assistant Professor level or higher. The position primarily supports Harris Health System and serves a diverse, medically complex patient population.

The successful candidate will provide inpatient and outpatient hematology care, teach residents, fellows, and medical students, and participate in quality improvement and research within a safety net health system.

Qualifications

• MD or MD/PhD degree required.
• Board certified or board eligible in Hematology with Internal Medicine certification.
• Eligible for unrestricted Texas medical license and DEA registration.
• Demonstrated commitment to clinical excellence, education, and care of underserved populations.
• Interest in clinical research, quality improvement, or program development preferred.
• Spanish language proficiency a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive hematology inpatient and outpatient care at Harris Health facilities.
• Participate in inpatient consult services and outpatient hematology clinics.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics, and other specialties.
• Teach and supervise medical students, residents, and fellows in clinical settings.
• Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and population health initiatives.
• Engage in scholarly activity as appropriate to rank, including clinical research, translational work, or educational scholarship.
• Participate in call coverage and service responsibilities consistent with Harris Health clinical operations.
