POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The hematologist / oncologist will be responsible for diagnosing, treating, and managing patients with solid tumor or hematologic conditions, ensuring they receive the best possible care. This role requires collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to create individualized treatment plans and support patients and their families through each phase of care.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

1. Diagnose solid tumor and hematologic conditions
2. Determine treatment plans using various diagnostic techniques (biopsies, imaging, etc.)
3. Design individualized treatment plans, including chemotherapy and immunotherapy
4. Reassess disease progress as treatment progresses
5. Pursue alternative therapies as needed, as well as palliative care when appropriate
6. Collaborate with surgeons, pathologists, and other specialists for comprehensive cancer care
7. Educate patients and families about treatments, side effects, and post-treatment care
8. Conduct follow-ups to assess treatment efficacy and manage side effects
9. Participate in case reviews, clinical trials, and continuous education
10. Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and maintain detailed patient records

The hematologist / oncologist will see a variable number of patients per day, depending upon the types of appointments scheduled. The physician will be supported by dedicated clinical assistants.

The practice uses the MDLand EHR.

The physician will work with a majority Chinese-speaking patient population and must be fluent in Mandarin and/or Cantonese.

- Must speak Cantonese or Mandarin
