Job description

Job Description:
Hematologist/Oncologist at Mount Auburn Hospital – Cambridge, MA

Mount Auburn Hospital is seeking a dedicated and collegial Hematologist/Medical Oncologist to join its Division of Hematology/Oncology in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a physician who enjoys the breadth and variety of general hematology and oncology, values meaningful long-term relationships with patients, and wants to practice sophisticated, evidence-based medicine in a welcoming community hospital with strong academic connections.

Located along the Charles River, minutes from Harvard Square, Mount Auburn Hospital combines the personalized care and collegial atmosphere of a community hospital with the intellectual stimulation and resources of a Harvard Medical School teaching institution.

The Opportunity

The successful candidate will join an established multidisciplinary oncology team caring for patients with a wide range of solid tumors, hematologic malignancies, and benign hematologic disorders.

The position offers the opportunity to maintain a broad general practice while developing particular expertise in one or more disease areas based on individual interests and the needs of the community.

Responsibilities and opportunities include:

  • Providing comprehensive outpatient hematology and oncology care, including diagnosis, treatment, surveillance, and survivorship.
  • Participating in inpatient hematology/oncology consultations.

A genuinely collaborative environment. Work alongside an established team of physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and multidisciplinary specialists who share a commitment to clinical excellence and compassionate care.

Academic engagement without a research-intensive career requirement. Participate in medical education and interdisciplinary clinical discussions while focusing primarily on excellent patient care. Eligible physicians may receive a Harvard Medical School faculty appointment commensurate with their experience and qualifications.
