Job summary

WM is seeking a Driver Helper to assist Route Driver in collecting Waste and/or Recyclable material on a Monday–Friday shift starting at 5 am. No education required, and you must be 18+ with legal eligibility to work in the United States.

Responsibilities include loading/unloading containers, assisting with backing maneuvers, and reporting issues to Dispatch. The role is safety sensitive with on-the-job training and growth opportunities, with comprehensive benefits to follow.

Responsibilities

• Works in accordance with WM Safety and Life Critical Rules, OSHA requirements and all local, state and federal laws.
• Immediately reports all unsafe situations or service related issues to Operations Manager or Dispatch.
• Attends and participates in all scheduled training programs, briefings, and meetings as required by WM or directed by the Operations Manager.
• Manually or mechanically load and empty residential and/or commercial containers into truck.
• Containers may be staged curbside, dockside, carryout, or require pullout to complete service.
• Operates hoisting device to lift and empty bins or containers into truck hopper.
• Assists driver with all backing maneuvers while on route.
• Notifies Operations Manager of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage.
• Notifies Operations Manager or Dispatch of service interruptions including closed streets or heavy receptacles.
• Communicates customer requests to Operations Manager or Dispatch.
• Performs all duties as scheduled by Operations Manager or Dispatch and assisting other drivers as directed to meet customer needs.

I. Job Summary
