Job summary

The Town of North Attleborough is seeking a Helper/Cashier for the Joseph W. Martin Elementary School cafeteria in Massachusetts.

This role supports daily meal service, encourages student participation, and provides positive customer service during a 4.5-hour daily shift from 8:45am to 1:15pm. The position requires adherence to local, state, and federal School Food Service regulations, safe food handling, and effective communication with staff, students, and families.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
• Stand for extended periods of time.

Responsibilities

• Ensure successful operation of the school cafeteria with strong customer service.
• Adhere to School Food Service and Child Nutrition Program regulations.
• Prepare and handle foods safely, maintaining high nutrition, flavor, appearance, and presentation.
• Meal preparation, serving line setup, receiving, cleaning, and sanitizing of dishes, equipment, and facilities, serving food, assisting with record keeping, and cashiering.
• Communicate effectively with food service staff, food service director, school faculty, administration, and students, and attend training as required.
• Display a high level of personal and professional integrity in the performance of duties.
• Accomplish all tasks in a manner that promotes excellent customer service.

WORK SCHEDULE

Monday through Friday – 8:45am - 1:15pm 4.5 hrs./day

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for the successful operation of the school cafeteria by encouraging maximum student participation with positive customer service.
• Responsible for adhering to local, State, and federal regulations regarding School Food Service and the Child Nutrition Program.
• Prepares and handles foods safely, optimizing and maintaining high standards in nutrition, food flavor, appearance, and presentation.
• Responsible for meal preparation, serving line setup, receiving, cleaning, and sanitizing of dishes, equipment, and facilities, serving food, assisting with record keeping, and cashiering.
