Job summary

ABM is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform carpentry, painting, event set up and takedowns, and minor electrical and plumbing repairs across assigned buildings at 121 W Chestnut. You will carry out routine inspections, move furniture, and ensure safe, economical use of equipment and materials.

The role requires hands-on skills, ability to work after hours when needed, and compliance with safety procedures; previous experience in mission-critical environments preferred but not required.

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • No high school diploma, GED or college degree required.
  • At least 1 year experience in mission critical environments.
  • Hands on electrical or mechanical skill with competence in non-expertise areas.
  • Operate routine and emergency service on a variety of state-of-the-art critical systems.
  • Knowledge and experience using basic computer applications.

Responsibilities

Job description

The Maintenance technician is responsible for: carpentry, painting, event set up and take downs, miscellaneous minor electrical work and minor plumbing repairs; ensuring all building property is properly maintained; furniture moving, arrangement, placement of equipment, etc.; carrying out frequent checks of all areas, reporting any faults using the correct procedure; ensuring the safe, correct and economical use of equipment and cleaning materials. Performing other maintenance duties, as needed. Performs inspections and repairs to assigned property interior and exterior areas, including walls and flooring, installed fixtures, roofing systems, lighting, etc.

Pay: $26.23 per hour

The pay listed is the hourly range or the hourly rate for this position. A specific offer will vary basedon applicant's experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data.

Shift:

Sun, Mon, Thurs (7am-3:30pm) Tues and Wed 2:30pm-11:00pm

Location:

121 W Chestnut

Building repair as it pertains to assigned buildings.

Install and repair; door closers and thresholds, door and frames, drywall, carpentry, wall covering, carpet repair, light electrical, ceiling tile, light plumbing, painting, floor tile.

Perform assigned facility inspections and due diligence efforts, reporting on as found conditions impacting satisfactory client occupancy and operations.

Respond effectively to all emergencies.

Prepare and submit to management summary reports listing conditions found in the performance of assigned work, and recommend and/or suggest action to be taken.

Comply with all safety procedures, maintaining good housekeeping, safety of work areas and company vehicle. Recognize danger and safety hazards and propose methods to eliminate them.

Maintain compliance to State, County, or City Ordinances, Codes or Laws.

Must be willing and able to support any afterhours building related activity as required.

Attend periodic training seminars, as a group or solo with an on-line computer, on or off site.

Safe guard all company and clients assets and electronic devices in your possession.

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
