Job summary

Applitrack is seeking an IT Helpdesk Specialist to provide day-to-day support for computer users, diagnose issues, upgrade hardware and software, and maintain equipment inventory. The role involves direct user interaction, problem solving, and occasional on-site repairs across classrooms and offices.

The ideal candidate should have strong hardware and software knowledge, experience with LAN/WAN environments, and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
  • Associate's degree + 2 years LAN admin/maintenance experience also acceptable.
  • Associate's degree with two years of relevant work.
  • High school diploma with 3+ years of related experience accepted.

Responsibilities

  • Responds to helpdesk requests from users with computer or peripheral issues.
  • Installs and tests computer hardware, software and cabling.
  • Configures equipment using wiring diagrams and testing tools.
  • Identifies software vs hardware problems and documents issues.
  • Maintains inventory of computer hardware and repair records.
  • Provides phone support and on-site assistance as needed.
  • Operates and monitors computer peripherals and systems.
  • Assists in planning and installing new equipment and printers.
